The Loxahatchee River in Jupiter is an amazing trip. There is a park called River Bend right off I-95 in Palm Beach County Florida. You can canoe or kayak around the park for an hour or two but the better trip is a trip up the "Wild and Scenic River". Lots of wildlife and yes, even some gators. Your trip takes you by trapper nelsons (some interesting history to look up). It's about a 7 hour trip but definitely worth it. You might want to wait till it cools off a bit...it's hot in the summer.
